From June 25 to 28, theannual meeting of the Association of German Women Entrepreneurs (VdU)tookplacein Münster—an inspiring gathering of strong women, committed companies, and lively debates.
A special debut for us: for the first time, we presented ourselvesas event organizerswith our own trade fair stand – small, but full of attitude. Included: well-thought-out design, clear messages, genuine conversation starters – and a drink from our wonderful cooperation partner CALOW, which provided the perfect refreshment and plenty to talk about.
This year's title for the event,"Business United for Democracy," could hardly have been more fitting. Christina Diem-Puello, President of the VdU, opened the conference with the words:"Democracy cannot be taken for granted—it is a promise that we must fulfill anew every day."
Particularly impressive was the talk "She's Mercedes: Attitude needs strength" with Christina Diem-Puello, Alexandra Kohlmann, Franzi von Hardenberg and Dr. Anna Weber. The discussion showed that attitude is not shown in marketing texts, but in every single conversation.
Another thought-provoking comment came from Dr. Maximilian Oehl fromMedia ForceandBrand New Bundestag:"Companies are not neutral spaces."Anyone who advocates values such as diversity, openness, and equality must also publicly stand up for them—in strategy, communication, and leadership.
The most valuable encounters often took place between the program items - while strolling through the women entrepreneurs' fair, getting to know each other at the comma stand or exchanging ideas on the dance floor.
Many thanks to the VdU and the Westphalia regional association for the great organization and the inspiring program.
These days in Münster have shown that entrepreneurship is needed today more than ever - as a voice for our democracy, as an attitude in everyday life and as a stage for change.
